Chamber to discuss Y2K problem

                                          * * *

Y2K problems will be the focus of the first Oldsmar
Chamber of Commerce luncheon of 1999.

The chamber staff -- Kevin Gartland, director, Rita Diehl,
marketing and sales, and Brenda Robinson, director of
member services and special events -- would like to remind
everyone that there are "only" 369 shopping days left until
2000.

If you buy a new computer, chances are it is year 2000
safe, and it won't go haywire when you try to log on to
the New York Stock Exchange on Jan. 1, 2000.

But there is a chance things could get dicy for your
business on the first day of the 21st century if you
aren't prepared.

That's why the chamber has invited Al Leiser, of the
Pinellas County Department of Economic Development, to
address chamber members and guests at a Jan. 13
luncheon at Tampa Bay Downs.

He will answer questions about what 2000 means to
business owners, and offer coping suggestions.

The luncheon is open to the public. Tickets cost $13,
and reservations must be made by Jan. 8. Call Robinson
or Diehl at (813) 855-4233.
