Back in 1789 days or thereabouts (probably up to the Presidency of James Madison, who was sadly afflicted with one of the worst Congresses on record!), this might have been a very good solution. Unfortunately, the engulfment and devourment of American government by political parties (a role NOT authorized or prohibited by the Constitution, unfortunately) means this is highly unlikely. This is all about POLITICS - and that means political parties, patronage, payoffs, and pissing on everyone else (the 4 p's these days). The likelihood of Al Gore, Jr. taking such an offer is ZERO. Gore is also killing his political future by throwing the election into the courts, unlike Nixon. Cheney can go back to Secretary of Defense, Colin Powell can take over as Secretary of State, Condo Rice can be Nat Sec. Advisor, and you can give the rest to Norman Schwartzkopf to dismantle :-) yr. ob. srv, Alan jim bob marley <nospam@nospam.nospam> wrote in message news:04E4C48462CA9EB9.6F780CF0ACB48267.0E0BB35B157616E8@lp.airnews.net... > If nobody can agree on Bush or Gore, the decision may go to Congress for > President and Senate for VP.
