Why? Why is it such a problem that state legislatures need to pass
laws against it?
There are many hurdles to vet a senatorial (&c) candidate, I notice
you weren't running.
Why do you believe that some big daddy authority figure has to come
down with a heavy hand to do what you don't believe the parties and
electorate can't? (surely state party members would have a similar
bias toward native sons.)
This is kind of like the term limits issue where some call for
prejudicial (I use the term technically, meaning you don't know
beforehand which candidates it applies to) laws to pre-empt the
current process whereby candidates get their party's and the
electorate's approval.
>This can (and should) be fixed with appropriate legislation.
>Carnahan should have been removed from the ballot when he passed away,
>IMO; he wasn't only because local laws apparently prohibited it.
Maybe all you lack is some more knowledge about why the laws are that
way, other than your ready-made sneering that it's just that everyone
but you is dumb.
