I wonder if anyone can explain the reasoning for 2 things I have encountered in Georgia, and nowhere else. First, I have heard that it isn't legal for merchants to sell alcohol on SUNDAY. This just seems so strange. I mean, if the reasons are of a religious nature, then why isn't this policy active in Eastern Tennessee where I used to live. I mean that place is the buckle of the bible belt for christ sake! Second, I have not yet seen a grocery store that has hard liquor in it's isles. Sure, there is beer and wine, but no bottles of rum, vodka, bourbon etc.. This also, is something I have only noticed in Georgia. Since I haven't traveled much out of Atlanta, I can't speak for the whole state, but I would guess it to be true everywhere. Any explanations for these WEIRD practices? -Jason Mastaler mastaler@netcom.com
