Covington) writes: >A lot of people have not yet come to grips with the fact that AIDS is for >the most part a disease that people voluntarily expose themselves to. >In fact in some quarters people are required to pretend that this isn't so. > The fact that MOST people in the past voluntarily have subjected themselves to the disease is due mostly to a lack of education rather than wishing death upon themselves. The people who are suffering from the symptoms now could have contracted the disease up to seven years ago....how much did you, the gov't and the country as a whjole know about the disease seven years ago. I believe the showing of the quilt is to bring about awareness of the disease and not "exude honey" over tainted deaths like some morons believe. Ask the dentists patient who recently died if she thinks we ought to let the disease run rampant, ask her husband who still has a chance of contracting the disease if he and his wife were immoral...ask them if they think that since a minority thinks it is a disease that only affect immoral people should it be allowed to kill thousands of people a year..... Give me a break and don't try to force your ignorant ideas on the masses. this disease has the potential of becoming another blkack plague and ignorance won't be bliss then! Check the facts and you'll find that the disease has been on a dramatic rise ever since it was first discovered, and I don't think that attempts to make people more aware of the disease should have to deal with "well they deserved it" or "I don't want to glorify those deaths." Sheesh, and I thought there was such a thing as compassion for your fellow man...guess I was sorely mistaken! >-- >=================================================================== >Michael A.
