Its running on a ATM based system that is also on a mesh network with over 40 pops nation wide. We do in fact connect directly to over 7 peering points. That is the reason why I say it is one hop to the internet. The peering points are that actual backbone of the internet. Peering points are nothing more than exchanging points. All I can say is that this particular network is very reliable and down right fast. Naturally once you get handed off by a peering point it doesn't matter how fast your network is. >Purely a technical comment, no other intent should be read in to it. I must appologize on my part. I've been battling with MCI these few days. They are trying to charge me for 3 months of voice T1 service, but considering how I have only had them for 2 months, and to top it off they told me that I can have a PRI put in as well, and they don't even have it until June, I get a bit irritated <sp?>.
