If an address was exactly on the border, I think whichever country could deliver the mail to it depending on their convenience. It's not a problem. If 4 grids come together at anywhere, it does not mean that it is necessary to let four postmen to share this area. A computer sorting machine should include lots of information, such as the local geographical information, road and street distribution, and post offices locations, etc, which will determine the optimized transport and delivery route. For sorting international mails, a sortng program will take into account all the information about the countries borders, main airports, airlines, and some post agreements between countries, etc; so all the mails will be sorted and transported through optimization much better than the existing postal code system which have fixed routes for the transportation and delivery of mails. We can leave the postal code system independent of politics and practical considerations and let the computer sorting program to take care all these. As the computers have reached such a high level, it will not be any problems to realize it. The other important thing is that many groups in the world need to use geocode to locate an address, such as: ambulance, fire fighters, police, express delivery agents, taxi drivers. Do you think that we need all different geocodes to represent one address? Do you like to and are you able to remember all these codes for your address? You know, just because of the time wasted in the location of an address, many people are losing their lives and property due to serious deseases, fires, crimes. An introduction of the natural area coding system to the public can not only supply a global postal code system but make people to know and be able to remember their absolute coordinates of their addresses on the earth with the resolution to 25 to 50 meters. Once something happens, they can tell exactly where they are and the emergent a gents can use very simple maps with NAC grid to locate the addresses immediately to save all the time usually wasted in the location of an address. This time can vary from several minutes to half hour depending on the development level. Do you know what this time mean? Xinhang Shen
