What do you need 18 or 21 speeds for?
I have a 21-speed bike this summer, and 95% of the time I use either the
fastest speed or a a moderate speed (the slowest speed is too slow for me).
I have noticed no difference in performance with my 10-speed.
It is just a gimmick.
There are very few hills on campus, and most could be avoided. Sure, there
is Bobby Dodd, but it is not that bad of a hill - when I feel masochistic,
I do laps up and down it.
You'll have better luck with just a cheap bike - and it will decrease its
chances of being stolen.
: NO easy-release seat or front wheel (too easily stolen)
: and very importantly, it must be LIGHT WEIGHT. I don't know the actual
: number of pounds, but I will need to carry this thing up flights of stairs.
: I am looking to pay $200 or less, depending on condition.

And the number one reason why David Korn is cool:
main() { printf(&unix["\021%six\012\0"],(unix)["have"]+"fun"-0x60);}
