Dad fell in the lake and fried the Nokia phone he got a few weeks ago from
Cingular. Does anyone have one they'd like to sell cheap? He doesn't know
what a newsgroup is so I'm posting this for him, but he will be happy to
hear from you. Otherwise, feel free to send me an email and I'll pass it on
to him. He is:

sometimes, a radio (or other device) that's been immersed in water can be
restored. Since it was a lake (fresh water), the only real problem is water
trapped on the circuit boards, mostly under the keypad membrane. I'd suggest
removing the battery (probably dead by now anyway), opening the case, laying
out everything (you've got nothing to lose, do you?), wipe away any moisture
you find, and let it dry for a day or two. Then put it back together and see
if it works....
