With apologies to the dot general groups, but because of the charity part...

I'm going to give this one more try. Last couple of times over several
months' span has produced some interest but no lookers, never mind takers.
If I don't sell or trade this by the end of the month, I'll give it to some
charity. So, in addition to the below stated stuff, I'll now entertain
essays on which is the most deserving charity for this classic. At the
reasonable value for this vehicle, I'll end up with the same net value after
tax considerations as if I sold it. However, I am a great believer in
recycling, so...

Well, the time has come to reduce the vehicle inventory...

Looking for $349 or trade for 300's or better class computer. Prefer the
trade :{))

Surely there is one of you who have upgraded, and wonder what to do with the
old one, and who also needs a ride or a hauler? I'm pretty flexible about
the computer - just want something faster than 299 with the
appropriate-to-class accompanying guts. Not so long ago, before the
standard went to 500+, one could buy a new one for that price, mouse,
speakers, and keyboard included at Best Buy. Now, you can buy a 366 for 300
at PCMall, and I've seen 400s advertised at under 300 here...

Here's the poop on the car:

Offered is a great old land sled which has sat mostly unused for the last
two or three years. Previously bought for a grand about 6 years ago when it
was already about like I have it other than the improvements/maintenance I
put in it, for all the reasons a full-sized station wagon would be put to
with no concern for its appearance, it has mostly been used to sit at the
garage where we have all our other vehicles serviced, acting as our own
courtesy car when another is in the shop. But the shop wants the space
back, and we don't either use it or have comfortable room to put it here.
The following are the vital statistics:

White 79 Buick Park Avenue woodie. Three seats, but next to never used, as
the space was always platformed. There's a piece of carpet in there to
cover the normal surface. Roof rack, but I can count on one hand the times
I have ever seen one that didn't look as if it was an Okie moving with
anything on top! Rear door is clamshell with power roll-down window or gate
style with window up or down. Power everything, with most of them working
properly (I spent more than I'm asking on getting them all up to snuff a few
years ago). 350 GM engine that starts *every* time. 60-40 bench front,
with driver 6-way power. AM-FM-CB with standard in-windshield antenna.
Electric clock works, too! Unknown mileage as I have never bothered to get
the cruise control fixed, and the speedo cable comes through there. Ratty
head liner, as is typical in this age, but stapled up and doesn't shed.
Ratty carpet in the front, but it doesn't leak from the top, sides or
bottom! A/C works but will require recharge. Tranny wants only 3rd/top
gear in forward, but works just fine otherwise. Tires in good condition and
mileage left on them. Brakes very recently (likely less than a thousand
miles) overhauled. A good, solid, unremarkable car that isn't dinged, but
isn't pretty, either. No threat to be stolen (I should be so lucky -
insurance would pay me over a grand for it, cuz you can't find a full sized
station wagon any more) and very little threat to be vandalized :{))

Please respond in email cc cuz sometimes my server flushes faster than I can
read...

Whatcha got?

What it will go to: My nieces out in the country learning to drive.
Sorry, my PC is reserved for them.
