No World Series Tickets? Catch "Baseball" At Georgia Tech
          *********************************************************

ATLANTA--Baseball fans can get into the swing of World Series fever
with MOMIX in "Baseball" at Georgia Tech's Center for the Arts on Friday
and Saturday, October 20-21, 8:00 p.m. MOMIX, a company of
dancers/illusionists, revives the spirit of what playing and watching the
game has been about and ought to be. Bat-wielding MOMIX "players" have
incorporated Braves fever into their performance, complete with Braves
photographs/slides, and updates on the game during the Saturday performance.
"Baseball," a full evening work, originated from a 20 minute
dance Artistic Director Moses Pendleton made for the opening of the
San Francisco Giants new spring-training stadium in Arizona two years ago.
The work characterizes baseball through scenes depicting baseball's origin
such as rock-and-stick games played by primates swinging on vines to a
human size baseball rollerblading around a team of bat-wielding dancers.
For 13 years, MOMIX has been celebrated for its ability to conjure
up a world of surrealistic images using props, light, shadow, archival
sound bites, humor, and the human body.
For tickets call the Center for the Arts Box Office 894-9600.
Tickets are $20 general/ $16 over 65/ $10 children under 11.
