=======================================================================
January Wednesday the 20th, 7-9 pm
General Room 208, Goodrich C. White Hall
Meeting Emory University Campus
1993
* At 7 pm sharp, we start our program with the popular open
forum (an open question and answer session). If you've got
a question about the Macintosh, software for the Mac, or a
connectivity issue, come ask the experts. In all likelihood
one of the meeting attendees can either directly answer your
question or knows where to find the answer.
* At 7:20 pm, Microsoft Corporation takes the stage with a
demonstration of Excel. Excel (first created for the Macintosh
in 1984 and winner of every major software industry award) is the
most popular spreadsheet for the Macintosh. The latest version
of Excel (version 4.0) continues to build on this highly-
acclaimed spreadsheet tradition by adding such features as
Drag and Drop, a customizable toolbar, the "what if" Scenario
Manager, System 7 Publish and Subscribe, and data consolidation
from multiple worksheets (regardless of formatting or data
location). Microsoft Exel is cross-platform compatible; products
for the Macintosh and for Windows share the same file formats,
macros, keystrokes, and commands.
* At 8 pm, we take a break for announcements and other AMUG
business matters.
* At 8:20, Microsoft returns with a demonstration of PowerPoint.
The latest version of Microsoft PowerPoint (version 3.0)
incorporates everything needed to create successful presentations
all integrated in one easy-to-use product. PowerPoint is the
only presentation graphics product to concentrate on ideas first,
then the presentation. The user can either develop thoughts
right on the slides or work out the entire presentation in the
Outline view. After the basics are constructed, greater clarity
and impact can be added to the message by applying templates,
diagrams, graphs, clip art, dizzling color, and more. With
PowerPoint it's easy to produce high-quality 35mm slides,
overheads, speaker's notes, audience handouts, and even an
electronic slide show.
* At 9:00 pm, we'll have a raffle for door prizes.
Come early to get a good seat.
