Or easier make it illegal for him to have his car running. Not to mention
the fact not counting dorm deliveries I bet teh pizza boy's car is idling
a lot shorter while he goes to your door than some one's car waiting in a
drive thru during lunchtime (or hell, sometimes not enve then. I got tto
watch my gas meter go down one time cause they were being total fuckups at
the drive thru and didn't even bother to tell us we all had to wait for
the fries to be made. I would have frikkin turned my car off if they had
told us that).
Sheesh. I'm just pointing out the law does have a point. And Atlanta has
air worse than LA's now. That should scare you. Why not try to stop it
with things that only make it slightly more inconvenient than later on
having to do all sorts of shit to try to stop it (L.A. is very stringent
with laws cause they were so bad. They're finally improving I believe).
Hmm, like L.A. you cannot use lead gas (this 914 I was driving had a
modification on it that would not allow a leaded nozzle to go into the
tank because it was originally in California). Besides, they can use those
employees in the drive thru to speed up people's orders who walk in (if
they get organized they can make it quite speedy. I know a Wendy's at the
CNN center that gets a ton of business, only has two cash registers, and
gets people in and out real quick).
Granted Atlanta needs to be doing more, but some stuff you have to wonder
how feasible it is (I don't think without spending a shitload of money
they are going to get a good mass transit system going, MARTA is having
trouble as is with finances). That is one of hte biggest problems with
Atlanta, that and people *love* their cars (in Atlanta it is
understandable cause of size and the shitty mass transit system. If you
aren't close to a train station and you own a car, it isn't worth it).
\Something has to be done about air quality, and I think having to walk
into the restaurant is not that big a price to pay. God forbid you
actually have to leave your car!

The root cause of problems is simple overpopulation. People just aren't
worth very much any more, and they know it. Makes 'em testy. ...Bev
