The car I'm driving didn't pass emissons, and so I may be in the position of spending the requisite $200 mininum and trying for a waiver if it doesn't pass the second time. Has anyone had to do this, and what was your experience? Please e-mail me privately at louisep@mindspring.com if you think this isn't appropriate for general discussion on this group. The car, BTW, is an '83 Honda Civic Wagon, 5 speed, 152K. It passed on all measures except for CO% at 2500 RPM; that was 1.60%, and 1.50% is the max. The shop I take it to says it is burning oil (which I think is probably true), which is causing the high emissions readings.
