******************* The Other Side of the Mode ***********************
A WREK Sunday Special by Gail Rosen. (w/ thanx to George Magiros)
February 9th, 7 PM - 9 PM, on WREK 91.1 FM Atlanta.

The famous Kellijane from the Bong mailing list says:
'You've either hated their guts or creamed your knickers over them
since their American debut in '84. You've fantasised about kicking in
their teeth, or kicking it in the tour bus with all four after hours,
rolling in their sweat as they pant the words to "Somebody" in your ear,
you groupie! Well, love 'em or loathe 'em, Depeche Mode are still kicking
techno-wuss ass in the 1990s, and with their upcoming album Ultra, they
ought to be kicking some hard-core, rock n' roll ass as well.
So tune in this Sunday while Gail rolls some classic and closet DM
trax, sure to bring 13 year old girls and gay men everywhere to their
knees, and perhaps to open the minds and wallets of all you
anti-DM-I-hate-my-mom-and-worship-Satan-in-my-fatigues-because-I-was-listening
-to-Fugazi-before-anybody-else poseurs who think that keyboards are for
smashing over Trent Reznor's head. Well THINK AGAIN, corps-boy, because
Auntie Gail is gonna shred your medulla with rarely-heard, dark and
demonic Depeche that all y'all missed because you were too busy selecting
a chain wallet.'

No one could have summed it up better.

NOTE: "Painkiller", the b-side to their new single, and
forbidden excerpts from their forthcoming album, _Ultra_ WILL BE AIRED.

See You,
Gail

How to listen in to WREK over the Net for people outside of Atlanta:
Taken from http://www.gatech.edu/wrek/wreknet/outside.html

If you would like to listen to WREK live though the Internet, you need to
have one of the following platforms:
PC - Running Linux or FreeBSD w/ sound support
Sun - Sparc's running SunOS or Solaris
     SGI - Running IRIX V
Any UNIX based system that supports a /dev/audio-like device.

The client program for Cyber Radio 1 allows you to listen to WREK over the
Internet. At the present time, we are only distributing the source code.
This means
that you must "compile" the source code in order to make a working client
program. Detailed, yet simple, instructions are provided in the INSTALL
file on how to
get it to work for a number of platforms including those listed above.

We will eventually provide pre-compiled clients to make life easier...

The complete Cyber Radio 1 source code can be obtained via anonymous ftp
to:

FTP site Path
-------------- ----------------------------

ftp.gatech.edu /pub/wrek/CyberRadio1/CyberRadio1.tar.gz

After uncompressing and unarchiving the file, follow the instructions
provided in the file "INSTALL". On line installation instructions are also
available.

When you have the client program, "cr1", compiled and ready to run, type
at the UNIX command line:

"cr1 -i wrekquest.gatech.edu"

to connect to our server and have audio data sent to you.
