The Georgia Tech Amateur Radio Club, W4AQL, will administer
amateur radio exams immediately prior to our next meeting. The
exams will be given Monday. March 1, 1999, at 6:30 p.m., in
Van Leer EE room C245. We ask that examinees arrive by
6:20 to allow time for the appropriate paperwork.
All written and Morse code elements will be administered. If you
don't already have an amateur license, it is now possible to
get a Technician Class license without taking a Morse code
test.
Candidates should bring:
1) $6.45 for the testing fee. Cash or personal checks payable
to ARRL/VEC will be accepted. Please attempt to have
exact change.
2) Photo identification. A driver's license or Buzz Card are
among several acceptable forms. Minors without photo ID
have several options; please contact the number below for
details.
3) Current licensees wishing to upgrade must bring their
signed, actual, and original license (either wallet sized
or frame sized), and one photocopy thereof.
This is the first ham radio test session inside I-285 in some
time. If you've ever wanted to get your license, or if you've
been putting off an upgrade, now is the time to do it.
Questions? Call test session manager Brennan Price, KU4WJ,
at 404 892-8255 before 11 p.m. for details or directions.
