In a surprise move on Tuesday, a Senate committee voted to remove all funding for Planned Parenthood from the state budget. This move was made in response to lobbying from a group opposed to Planned Parenthood's support of sex ed in Georgia public schools. The funding (approx $400,000) represents about 20% of PP's budget. The only way that this funding can be restored is by the Senate - House conference that is now considering the bill. If you have an thoughts on this matter that you would like to share with the congressmen, I encourage you to call the following: Pierre Howard -- 656-5030 Tom Murphy -- 656-5020 and the members of the conference committee: Sen Wayne Garner 656-5034 Sen Pete Robinson 656-5135 Sen Harrill Dawkins 656-0065 Rep Terry Coleman 656-5052 Rep Larry Walker 656-5024 Rep Tom Buck 656-5146 Thanks, -- Peggy ___(_) |\ /| ---- ---- | ._.___ /( _ ,U -| moo! | \ / | | | | | | U. _ } || || | \/ | ---- ---- o || ||

Well, I can think of better things the state can do with my money than give
