The Georgia Tech Amateur Radio Club, W4AQL, continues
to give amateur radio exams on the fourth Sunday of each
month. The May session is Sunday, May 23, 1999, at 2:30
p.m., in room 301 of the Georgia Tech Student Center. We
ask that examinees arrive by 2:20 to allow time for the
appropriate paperwork.
All written and Morse code elements will be administered. If you
don't already have an amateur license, it is now possible to
get a Technician Class license without taking a Morse code
test.
Candidates should bring:
1) $6.45 for the testing fee. Cash or personal checks payable
to ARRL/VEC will be accepted. Please attempt to have
exact change.
2) Photo identification. A driver's license or Buzz Card are
among several acceptable forms. Minors without photo ID
have several options; please contact the number below for
details.
3) Current licensees wishing to upgrade must bring their
signed, actual, and original license (either wallet sized
or frame sized), AND ONE PHOTOCOPY THEREOF.
Examinees with credit from a previous test session must
bring the signed, actual, and original CSCE from that session
AND ONE PHOTOCOPY THEREOF. It is suggested that
examinees make the copies off campus, as the nearest
accessible copier to the test site is at the Price Gilbert Library,
and it is rediculously overpriced.
Questions? Call test session manager Brennan Price, KU4WJ,
at 404 892-8255 before 11 p.m.
