Think of Robert Smith as part of the original band and he has toured with
the band multiple times, and at one point was doing a lot with both
bands.  Best Siouxsie line up was with Robert IMHO.  Although most of us
would call early Cure punk, I consider them a "little lighter" (for lack
of a better term) compared to say to other punk bands of that time
period (ie Pistols or Damned).  Robert Smith can definitely play.

}well.  Even Joy Division, the first band labeled Gothic, started as a

...and before that, had the name Stiff Kittens.
