The GNU Project would like to produce a CDROM full of bootstrapping tools
for different systems---that is, all the compiler and library tools you
need to build the rest of the GNU software (which will be available on a
source CDROM which will come out at the same time). We can make binaries
for a few appropriate systems ourselves, but lack access to most kinds.
The most useful systems to make binaries for are ones that have unbundled
compilers, linkers, etc.
We need compilations of the following tools:
GCC, GDB, GAS, Make, libc, libg++, binutils.
for at least the following systems, as well as any others people consider
worth supporting:
Solaris, Sunos 4, SCO systems (possibly more than one version, if
necessary), ISC systems (again, may need multiple binaries for
different versions of ISC), vanilla SVR3 and SVR4 for the 386.
If you can help, please send me email telling me what kind of system you
have. Life will be a lot easier if you have FTP access to the Internet.
Our deadline for having the CDROM ready is May 10, so it would be very
useful to have everything ready to go at least a few days before then.
