Ghostview is an X11 user interface for the ghostscript PostScript
interpreter. It runs on a wide variety of Unix systems. As of
this release, it also runs on VMS.

Other than VMS support, no new features are included in this release.

Here is a quick summary of the major changes:

- Ghostview now runs on VMS.
- Ghostview sends PostScript to the ghostscript interpreter in a much
  more efficient manner.
- The DSC comment scanner has be revised to detect figures that are
included without being protected by %%Begin(End)Document comments.
- Ghostview now properly destroys popup zoom windows and kills the
  associated interpreter.
- Ghostview automatically adjusts to not being able to allocate the
  backing pixmap.

For more details, see the HISTORY file.

For people that have difficulty building ghostview, I have placed executables
from several architectures in the ftp.cs.wisc.edu:/pub/X/ghostview-exe
directory.
