Hello, I compiled BASH 1.12 on an IBM 370-type machine and it seemed to compile just fine, but when I try to do virtually anything under the shell I get the error "Illegal instruction" and it completely kills my login. Also, there is a core dump of zero length. Has anyone else seen this? I'd appreciate any help. Here are the particulars: Bash Version: 1.12 Machine & OS: IBM 4164 running AIX V1.2.1 on VM Compiler: MetaWare's High-C Description of Bug: Says "Illegal instruction", and dies (kills login) Short Script to cause bug: $ echo $TERM Thanks, Jeff Parker p00185@psilink.com
