bash 1.12.1 on m68k-hp-bsd4.3

Start an xterm.  In that window, type enough at bash that it doesn't fit on
the line and you get the ">" at the end of the line.  Then enlarge the
window with your window manager.  bash still thinks the line is the
original length.
