Greetings...I just FTP'ed gnuchess from wuarchive, and am quite impressed. Although I haven't the programming skill to comprehend the intricacies of it archetecture, I can certainly appreciate the power of this chess engine. The interface however, although functional, leaves a little to be desired. I understand that it is designed to interface with Sun's Chesstool, and that xboard is annother interface for the Sun, but being a PC-peon, I haven't access to these :-( I wonder if anybody knows of a good graphics interface (preferably with mouse support) which has been written for PCs. I'm afraid that writing such a thing is far beyond my abilities as a programmer. Cheers -- bcrawfor@Sol.UVic.CA -- member of the society for simple .signatures (SSS)

If you are wroking on a PC version that plans to support the chess informant symbol set you may want to know that the USCF is going to standardize the high ascii assignments for these symbols.
