There are problems with emacs 18.58 on Solaris 2.0. Using the s-usg5-4.h and m-sparc.h description header files, I was unable to get even the xmakefile created from the ymakefile in src/. Also, the cpp subdirectory does not build cccp since the "PW" library no longer exists (though if this -lPW) is removed from cpp/Makefile, it links it. But the xmakefile in src/ expects the "ccom" pass of the compiler to exist in /lib. It doesn't. This pass of the compiler does not even exist in the distribution binary library for the now unbundled Sparc-Compiler C version 2.0. In short, if you have emacs running under Solaris 2.0, please contact me. Stuart
