Whenever I use gnus, then subsequently use trn (when I want to read a newsgroup that has several hundred articles and don't have twenty spare minutes to watch them all get threaded), trn complains about my .newsrc, and spends several minutes doing something, I don't know what. No other news reader that I have used seems to provoke this. Anyone have any idea what's happening here? Also, any insight into what is going on when I try to read a newsgroup and the threading phase barfs with the message, "symbol's value as variable is void: THRU"? This only happens with some newsgroups, and trn seems to have no trouble with them. -- jmc
