Demacs and Windows 3.1

Has anybody installed  Demacs to work with Windows 3.1 ? I tried but
failed to do so. This is what I did.

1. Got the go32.com from ftp.sigmath.osaka-u.ac.jp under
/pub/Msdos/GO32/DPMI.support. Beware, the documentation files are in
Japanese. 


2. Got lha to extract files from *.lzh.

3. Extracted files.

4. Copied go32.com to the directory where I had temacs and loadup.el
(From GNU Emacs distribution)

5. Executed 
go32 temacs -batch -l loadup.el dump

6. My system (486 based IBMPC) stopped responding.


Does anybody what I might be doing wrong ?
