Under auc-tex, you can not preview a dvi file without running TeX on
the file first. I would like to look at the existing document before
making changes and running.

Does any one have a way of previewing the file corresponding to the
current buffer (or its Master if that exists) without running TeX on
the buffer first? I think it needs the TeX-zap-file variable to be
initialized but I don't know any lisp and don't know a way of doing
this.

Please reply to me directly and I'll post a summary if a way is found.

Thanks,
Ravi
