This is definitely a termcap problem. Plese getthe GNU termcap manual
and read about "magic cookies"--it sounds like thatterminal uses them.
If you do get a correct termcap entry for that terminal,
please send me the corrected entry.
So, does anyone know a way to make Emacs update the entire mode
line, instead of just what's changed, or some other way around this
problem?
It would be a mistake even to consider such possibilities now. When
certain terminal facilities don't work, don't start by trying to avoid
using them. First try to fix them! Don't give up without even
trying.
