emacs configure on UnixWare
#2255

I'm trying to build Emacs 19.16 on a 386 system running UnixWare
(SysV4.2). When I run the "configure" script, it gets to the lines:

Examining the machine- and system-dependent files to find out
 - which libraries the lib-src programs will want, and
 - whether the GNU malloc routines are usable.
checking for -lXbsd

...and appears to go into an infinite loop. Ps output shows
that ld is running with some small object files; no output is
being written. I've tried this with a few different sets of
args to configure, including none (i.e., configure guesses the
system type, and actually gets it pretty much right).

Any ideas on what's wrong?

Please e-mail responses and I'll summarize if appropriate.
Thanks.

- bill.
