error starting vm when primary-inbox does not exist

Hello all,
   I have a problem when I run vm 5.32 (beta).  I have
vm-delete-empty-folders set to true.  So it deletes my primary inbox
if it has no messages left in it.  When I start up vm, i get an error
saying "Wrong type argument, arrayp nil"

Any way I can get rid of this?

Also something a bit weird: when vm tries to get new mail, it loads
c++-mode.  I've got my auto-mode-alist set up ("\\.C" . 'c++-mode) in
it, but I dont see how /var/spool/mail/wmperry would cause this to
load.   Any ideas?
