Bug in vmsx-convert-message?

I just started to use vm5.32 and the vm-save stuff for do-fcc.
When I sent a message it complained about not being able to find "\n\n".
The problem is in vmsx-convert-message, where (in case the folder type is
mmdf) first all emty lines are replaced by a space and then an empty line
is sought:
(save-excursion
(while (re-search-forward "^\n" nil t)
(replace-match " \n")))
;; If message does not have date use the current one.
(if (vmsx-get-header-contents "Date")
()
(search-forward "\n\n" nil t)
^ shouldn't there be a space?
I don't understand why the empty lines are replaced by a space but I
suppose this is mmdf weirdness. I don't want mmdf anyway so setteing the
default to From_ solved the problem.

This function is drawn from a package of that name, which was supposed to enable saving of stuff from fcc into vm folders. It was posted by someone from Germany if I remember correctly, and I managed to get the same bug. Never did manage to fix it, so I threw the package out... diecph@ucunix.san.uc.edu

Sorry, I found it it vm-save-x.el in my vm directory and didn't realise that it wasn't part of the official vm distribution. The file doesn't have any indication of who is the athor. But as I definitely want to report a bug :=) here is another one. On vm5.32 when I get new mail, I do M-x vm followed by g. This pops up the INBOX and its summar buffer, but often it displays the new message not at the top but something like 10 lines down. Of course I can get to the top by using DEL or <, but I find this annoying. I am running emacs18.58, and as both emacs and VM have been updated in the last week, I can't tell which one caused this behaviour. Any idea? -- Piet* van Oostrum, Dept of Computer Science, Utrecht University, Padualaan 14, P.O. Box 80.089, 3508 TB Utrecht, The Netherlands.
