I am having a lot of trouble building Epoch-4.2 (as opposed to
Epoch-4.0). Could someone please tell me what is going on with
the following problem:

central.rutgers.edu% make no.ascii
cd etc; make  all
cd src; make  all
make  -f xmakefile  all
cc -c -g -Demacs  -fsoft -I/usr/openwin/include  crt0.c
as: "/tmp/ccom.02073.1.s", line 219: error: redefinition of symbol
"__start"
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `crt0.o'
Current working directory /central/c4/shadagop/epoch-4.2/src
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `doall'
Current working directory /central/c4/shadagop/epoch-4.2/src
