The environment variable DISPLAY does not seem to be set by epoch. IE running 'rsh <host> epoch -display <display>' does not have DISPLAY set in the environment. I make use of the DISPLAY env var by a modified emacs server program which creates the unix socket name by <homedir>/.<hostname>-<display>, but unfortuately without the DISPLAY env var I seem to be stuck. I was hunting around the epoch source a little and found XD_display_name, but can not spend enough time playing (real work gets in the way) to fully understand where I can do a Fsetenv(). Any and all help will be appreciated. BTW, if you are interested, I could make my changes to the emacs server strategy and my support programs available; though I'm not sure if anyone else would find it useful. Thanks.
