Trouble running Epoch on A/UX

I am having trouble getting Epoch to run in X Window mode on my
A/UX system. It works find in ascii mode but when I start it
in window mode I just get dozens of error msgs of the form:

Xlib: sequence lost (0x10063 > 0x2a5) in reply type 0x0!

Config: Epoch 4.2 , A/UX 3.0, MacX 1.1.7 server

Any help would be appreciated.
