I compiled Epoch 4.2 (with gcc 2.2.2d7 on a Linux system) and it works fine
until i
(setq-default ctl-arrow 'eightbitfull) to enable \202, etc (for use
with Marlet's viewer (wysiwyg TeX package for Epoch or Lucid).
then i dump core when i backspace over a \202. works fine for higher
eight bit chars (\240 and up).
can anyone suggest a fix/replacement for the ctl-arrow stuff ??

ps: the ctl-arrow isnt needed for \240 and above, but i need
\202 for TeX's \beta, etc.
