Unwanted recentering with other-window

Perhaps this has been reported already and is well-known, but...

In Epoch 4.2, when I do an other-window (which calls select-window), the
window I jump to is sometimes recentered. The behavior is very variable: it
appears to depend on where point is located in both the starting and
destination window. (All this is taking place in one screen.)

I looked at window.c, but nothing was immediately obvious. I have not
noticed this problem in the ascii Emacs which comes with Epoch.

Is there a fix?

Thanks,
Fritz

I've noticed this too. I haven't noticed anything about the behavior
depending on the point locations, though. It seems to depend on the
size of the destination window; it usually occurs when the destination
window is small--less than 15 lines or so.
