It seems that g++ 2 and g++ 1 are not source code compatible. I can understand why I need to recompile object files (since the support libraries have changed), but now I need to include a number of additional header files that I didn't before. For example, if I call abs() or exit(), under g++ 2.2 I need to include <builtin.h>, which was automatically included under g++ 1.40. Did I install it wrong, or is this done on purpose (or is it a bug)? Please email as well as post your answer. My newsfeed is flakey.
