I don't believe the following can be correct, the code is:
#include <std.h>
#include <iostream.h>
main()
{
cout << oct << 16 << endl ;
}
The message is:
g++ trial.cc
trial.cc: In function `int main ()':
trial.cc:6: type conversion required for type `ostream'
Compilation exited abnormally with code 1 at Tue Apr 14 17:07:24
Using g++ configered with ./configure --target=sparc-sun-sunos4.1
