System: sun4 (IPC) running sunOS 4.1.x with GNU gcc/g++ version 2.2.2

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

It appears that dependency generation with the new compiler is broken. The
output of "g++ -MM" looks like:

   allowance_tables.cxx.o : allowance_tables.cxx ../../tilman/util/ItiString.hxx \
  ../../tilman/util/ItiObject.hxx ../../tilman/util/ItiObjMacros.hxx ../../tilman/main/r2drug_svc.hxx \


Please note that it says "allowance_tables.cxx.o", not "allowance_tables.o"!
