Gnu compiler problem on VMS - help!

I've been trying to install Motif - G++ interfaces on our VAX/VMS
system, but have come up against the problem (feature?) with GLOBALREF &
GLOBALDEF, which causes the GCC compiler to choke on the Motif header
files.

I know there is supposed to be a fix for this by using the macros in the
GNU_HACK.H file - but I haven't figured out how to do this .... please
someone enlighten me!

We have DECMotif 1.0 (OSF 1.1) and GCC 1.37 and 2.2.2 here.

Thanks,
Liz
