How to work with g++2.3 and gdb on SYSVR4?

As I just read in some README file gcc-2.3 does not output dwarf
debugging information with the C++ front end. It sounds like the
dwarf output for the C++ front end will not be ready soon.

So what is the best way to do development using g++-2.3 together with
gdb on SYSVR4? Should I use the GNU ld? Do I need different
configurations for the C front end since it can use dwarf?

Or should I use SYSVR3 for C++ development instead? (That's the worst
case for me)

Thanks,
peer
