Help With g++ on SGI

Hi,

I am having a problem compiling libg++-2.2 on a SGI Indigo with gcc-2.3.1.  
I get the following error:

nm: Error: Can not open dummy.o
nm: Error: Can not open dummy.o
nm: Failed to find FUNC in dummy.o!
./utils/gen-params: -1: bad number
******Error Code 1******

stop

Any help would be appreciated.
