In message <45hnd5$obl@solaris.cc.vt.edu> you write: > I have compiled g++ 2.7.0 for Irix 5.3 (Indigo 2), but it appears to > no longer accept the -g compiler option. Any suggestions why not? > > >> g++ -g -c example.C > >> cc1plus: warning: `-g' option not supported on this version of GCC > > -Jan Helge Bohn > bohn@vt.edu If your compiler previously accepted the "-g" option under IRIX, then you were configured to use the GNU assembler; -g support is disabled unless you assure the compiler that gas will be used. The solution is to start from scratch, and run "./configure --with-gnu-as", making sure that the gnu assembler is the first one in your path. (If you were running a previous version of GCC which accepted "-g", this is a good bet). Hope this helps, Rusty. -- Rusty.Russell@adelaide.maptek.com.au "Engineer? So you drive trains?"
