g++2.2.2 and groff-1.05

Has anyone successfully compilied groff-1.05 with gcc/g++ 2.2.2? I'm getting an error from
the compiler in the file "errarg.c" line 26: assignment between incompatible pointer types.

I'm running gcc/g++ on an ISC 3.0. GNU C was built with no problems and I'm using
libg++2.2.2. I believe I've setup the Makefile correctly, but I don't have experience in C++
to know what the problem is. Perhaps some GNU guru will be kind enough to enlighten me.
Thanks in advance.
