My sys admin recently installed g++ 1.40 because he had problems
getting a 2.0 version working on our machine.
>> maze@bea: cpp>uname -a --> SunOS bea.lbl.g 4.1 1 sun4
>> maze@bea: cpp>mach --> sparc
Apparently the intermediate files that the compiler creates are not
parsable by the latter pass of the compiler. A verbose listing of
the compiler diagnostics appears at the end. My simplistic test file
appear after this introduction.
Incidentally, `a.out' is actually produced after the errors but as one
might expect, all it is good for is dumping core. Thanks in advance
for any clues. E-mail replies are preferred of course.
