I tried to compile Lee Hounshell's VAR library on GNU G++ (gcc version
2.2.2). It said there is error on var.C, in method
var & var::operator ++ (void) // increment (pre-index only)
{
*this += 1;
return *this;
}
var.C: In method `class var& var::operator ++ ()':
var.C:523: cannot convert to a reference type
Funny thing is, operator -- compiles without problem. When I changed the
addition to subtraction (*this -= -1), the library compiled ok.
