I started to port a GNU program to MSDOS (I don't say what, since I don't like to receive any "mail me" messages until it is finished) using what I think is newest version of DJGPP version of GNU C. I received several warning messages ``Unrecognized excape sequence "\f"'' etc. When I compiled a C++ program using option -E, output contained following first line: # 1 ".\font.cc" 1 Question is: Why did the preprocessor add the ".\", when compiler does not like them ? -- Arto V.
