Problems compiling libg++ 2.2 on a Sun4 under 4.1.1

I'm at a loss on this. I built gcc 2.2.2 and installed it (no problem). I got
libg++2.2 off gatekeeper.dec.com and did configure sun4 in the top directory.
Then:
eucsun% cd libg++
eucsun% make
rootme=`pwd` ; export rootme; CC="`if [ -f ${rootme}/../gcc/gcc ] ; then echo
${rootme}/../gcc/gcc\\ -B${rootme}/../gcc/ ; else echo gcc ; fi` `if [ -f
${rootme}/../gcc/gcc ] ; then echo -I${rootme}/../gcc/include ; else echo ; fi`"; export
CC; \

I've looked at lots of include files, but can't find anything that defines wchar_t
except the one in /usr/include/sys/stddefs.h. The deduced definition in _G_config.h
is correct... BTW, it sure would help if gcc would tell me what the conflicting
types were!
