I recently compiled gcc 2.2.2 on my sysv4 i386.

I can compile the libiberty.a files OK, and even a silly test
program, but, when trying to compile libg++, it fails in the
g++ specific files (LogNorm.C, and streambuf.C are as far as I've gotten).

If someone can tell me I obviously did something stupid, or where I can
look to figure out what an 'Error 6' is, I'd appreciate it.

If it helps, I'm using the AT&T make.

My test program follows, then the output from the make that fails.

................................................

extern "C"
{
#include <stdio.h>
}

class test
{
public:
test(){printf("Test Constructor\n");}
};

main (int ac, char *av[])
{
test tst;
}

................................................

Output of Make follows:

............................................................................

gcc -g -nostdinc++ -I.. -I. -I./../iostream -I./../g++-include -c LogNorm.cc

gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1plus got fatal signal 6

make: fatal error.

make: fatal error.

............................................................................

Thanks,
